Join CLEAR here. The most important thing you can do is join CLEAR.  It costs just £10.00 per annum (£5.00 if you’re a pensioner, student or on benefits) so cost should not be an obstacle to anyone. We must be prepared to stand up and be counted, to unite in the cause.  When CLEAR can claim to represent tens of thousands of people that is when we can start to demand change. If we prefer to keep our use of cannabis private then it will be difficult to make political progress. We must have the courage of our convictions,

not just for those who enjoy cannabis but for those for whom it is an essential medicine, enabling them to lead a life free from pain, suffering and disability. If you are concerned about your privacy or security, you do not have to give your name or address to CLEAR. (Your credit/debit card provider will require your address for authorisation but this is not retained on any CLEAR database) All that is required to join CLEAR is an email address and you will be allocated a membership number. We must also seek support from those who do not use cannabis.  We must explain the prejudice and discrimination we suffer, the appalling cruelty that is inflicted on those who need it as medicine, the disgraceful waste of our nation’s resources spent on oppressing so many citizens. Everyone who works for CLEAR gives their time for free.  We are able to pay some expenses but, for instance, all members of the Executive Committee pay their own telephone and internet bills.  All our funds go on fighting for the cause, on the cost of attending events, publicity, printing, etc, etc.  If you can afford to give more than your membership fee, please do so.  We are already attracting some commercial sponsors and we are actively seeking donations and funding from many sources.  George Soros gave $1 million to the Proposition 19 campaign in California in 2010.  If we could attract just one-tenth of that from wealthy British sponsors, we could transform the CLEAR campaign and lift it onto a whole new level. We need funding to fight elections, for advertising, for leaflet printing, for holding meetings in Westminster, for research that will act as powerful ammunition in the media.
